A comprehensive introduction to the theory of chart work, navigation, meteorology and the basics of seamanship. You will find this course invaluable if you want to learn how to start making decisions on board.
This is an excellent course to take as it goes into far more detail about aspects of safety, boat types, weather, navigation, charts, Collision Regulations etc. than can be achieved over the duration of a short practical course.
This is an ideal course for an RYA Powerboat Level 1 & 2 and Sail Competant Crew 'graduates' to take to build on their knowledge or as a prerequisite for the higher courses. If you intend taking Dayskipper practical then taking this course will allow more of your practical course to be dedicated to the practical aspects of the course.
RYA Coastal Skipper/Yachtmaster (Shore Based Course)

Cost: €550.00
This is an advanced course in navigation, collision regulations and meteorology for candidates for the Coastal Skipper and Yachtmaster Offshore Certificate. The syllabus makes some provision for the revision of subjects in the Day Skipper Course but those who have not acquired the knowledge set out in the Day Skipper Course are unlikely to be able to assimilate all the subjects covered in this advanced course in the time available.
The assumed level of knowledge before starting this course is the Day Skipper Shorebased Course.

RYA VHF/SRC Course and Examination
Course Duration: 1 Day
Cost: €95 per person + Licence issue (€30)
This 1 day course including an exam allows the participant to obtain a licence to use a Marine VHF radio. No pre-course experience or knowledge is needed. Course content includes use of marine radio including GMDSS. Routine messages, distress, urgency and safety procedures.The licence is a legal requirment in some countries.
A passport size photograph is also required for your licence.

Water Sports Safety and Towing Course (Not an RYA Course)
Duration: 1 Day
Price: Dependent on number of people and boat used
The Water Sports Safety Course is an AirBoost designed course to take you through all the practical and safety aspects of towing skiers and wakeboarders, skiers and water toys. The course is run by one of our drivers who is also an RYA instructor.
The instructor will guide you through all apects of normal towing, and retrieving skier and wakeboarders and then explain various safety bits that you need to know including recovering an injured skier, tow boat safety and emergencies and safety equipment availability and use.
