A. Yes you can, but not every boat. Currently the only motor boat that is availabile for a bare-boat rental is the Quicksilver 635.
Q. What licence do you need for a bare boat charter?
A. You need an appropriate licence for the type of boat you wish to charter. For the Quicksilver 635 you require an RYA Level 2/ICC or the equivalent from another state.
Q. What happens about fuel?
A. On all rentals, the boat will be normally be presented to you full of fuel at the start of the rental, and you will be met by one of our staff at the end of the rental at the fuel pontoon where you will be required to re-fill the boat. Please note the fuel pontoon in Lagos only accepts cash or American Express. No other credit cards are accepted.
Q. Am I liable for damage?
A. Yes, you have a limited liability for damage on a bare boat rental. The liablility is typically capped at €1000. The boat is otherwise fully insured.
Q. Am I liable for anything else?
A. Yes, Airboost or any other rental company are not liable for any damage or injury you cause to a third party or anyone in your party as a result of your operation of the boat.
Q. What safety equipment is on board?
A. You will be provided with the correct safety equipment (anchors, flares, life jackets, etc.) for the class of boat as required by the Portuguese Authority (the IPTM). All the boats are subject to regular official inspections and standards are high and strict.
Q. Can we have Water Sports equipment?
A. Yes. We have a range of wakeboards, wakeskates, ringos, skis etc. and you can borrow any of it at know extra cost subject to servicability and availibility.
Q. What are the charter times?
A. The times vary from boat to boat to make it easier to manage the checking in and out. A typical morning charter would be 09:30 to 13:00, and an afternoon from 14:00 to 17:30. A full day charter would be 09:30 to 17:30.
Q. Can I book times outside of the standard times?
A. We will do our best to accomodate special requests. You might expect to be charged if you wanted, for example, to rent four hours starting at 11:00 over both the morning and afternoon time slots, slightly more. Typically a rental such as that would not be allowed in peak season.

Q. Is all equipment included? A. Yes. All wakeboarding equipment including boards, vests, skates, surfers and wetsuits are part of the package for charters and wakeboard sessions. Q. Why is the afternoon charter cheaper than the morning?? A. Typically the morning is in more demand for wakeboard as the sea is normally flatter with less wind. We offer the afternoon at at a reduced rate to those that just want to enjoy the boat off peak. Q. Who is responsible if I hurt myself? A. Our drivers are professional, highly qualified commercial skippers. They will endeavour to keep you safe at all times. Wakeboarding is an extreme sport and you are responsible for riding within your ability to reduce the risk of injury. AirBoost will not be responsible for injuries sustained while participating in any water sport. |
